Who runs it

The portal is run by Saumyaranjan Sahoo, faculty in the Operations Management and Business Analytics area at the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur, for teaching his own courses. It is not a product and there is no company behind it.

What is recorded about you

When you sign in and use the portal, it stores:

• Your name and email address, as your Google account reports them when you sign in.
• An institute email address, if you give one. This is separate from the account you sign in with, and it is confirmed by a six-digit code sent to it. It exists so a class can be addressed at the institute address students actually read.
• Which courses you are on, and in what role — student or instructor — together with the display name you chose for that class.
• What you do in a game: the decisions you submit in a round, the marks the engine returns, and your score and time in a case game. This is coursework, and your instructor can see it.
• Files you upload, if you are teaching staff.

What is not recorded

• No IP addresses, anywhere. Visits are counted as a running total per country, per region, per page, per day — a counter, not a log. A counter cannot be turned back into one person’s browsing history.
• No third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. None are loaded, and the site’s content security policy would refuse them if they were: scripts may only come from this site itself.
• No advertising profile, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone for marketing. There is nobody to sell it to.

Cookies

One cookie, and it is the sign-in session — without it the portal cannot tell that you are you, and every page would ask you to sign in again. It is set when you sign in and cleared when you sign out.

Your choice of light or dark theme is kept in your own browser’s local storage. It never reaches the server.

Who can see what

• Your instructor sees the roster of their own course, and the submissions and marks of students on it.
• Other students see a leaderboard position, and only where a game publishes one. They do not see your email address or your submissions.
• Nobody else. Access is enforced in the database itself, row by row, not only in the pages — a page with a bug still cannot read a course you are not on.

Where it is held

Data is held in a Supabase Postgres database in the ap-southeast-1 region (Singapore), and the site is served by Vercel. Uploaded files sit in private storage — every download is checked against who is asking and handed over as a link that expires within a minute.

How long it is kept

Course records — enrolments, submissions and marks — are kept for as long as the course record is needed, in the same way a mark sheet is. Visit counts carry no personal data and are kept indefinitely. If you want your account and your personal data removed, ask, and it will be done.

Asking for your data, or its removal

Write to saumya.sahoo@hotmail.com. You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you are on a live course, deleting your account will also remove your submissions from it, so it is worth saying whether you want that to happen now or at the end of term.

Changes

If what the portal records changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
